| Thallus foliose, orbicular to irregular, rather loosely attached centrally. Lobes 3–5 mm wide, 5–15 mm long, radiating, flat to subconcave, adjacent to discrete. Upper surface minutely verrucose-scabrid centrally with conspicuous longitudinal, sharply defined ridges, grey-blue when wet, yellow-buff when dry; margins crenate, thickened, sometimes wavy, ascendant, white or greyish tomentose; isidia mainly marginal, granular at first becoming digitiform to subcoralloid-clustered, glomerulate, often eroding and appearing like soralia, pale blue-grey. Lower surface whitish, brownish centrally, with bundles of white to blue-black rhizohyphae. Cyanobiont Nostoc, in chains. Apothecia not seen in Australian material. CHEMISTRY: P+ orange. Pannarin. | ||
| Occurs on bark. A species from humid forests in lowland tropical and subtropical regions, only collected a few times in Qld and N.S.W., but fairly widespread in the Pacific (including Norfolk Is.), also in East Africa | ||
